EndoCap Endoscope Tip Protectors
An endoscope protective sleeve (EndoSock) and endoscope tip protector (EndoCap) are used to keep the instrument safe from damage and functional.
Damaged endoscopes lead to undesirable consequences such as
- Delayed procedure
- Canceled procedure
- High repair costs
- Potential patient risks
Preventive measures
To prevent damages, the endoscope should be stored as per the manufacturer’s recommendations. Take care of the optics when hanging the instruments as they are fragile. The insertion tube and lens tip head should be held when hanging. Endoscopes suffer various damages when cleaning and transporting them.
Long Term Protective Solution
Protecting the tip and the tube using protective solutions is the best way to keep the instrument safe. Endoscope tip protectors reduce the chances for damage due to impact. The protectors are used at all times before and after a procedure including the manual wash. Medtrica’s tip protectors do not allow for moisture build-up in the instrument or around the lens, (If moisture does build up it can result in bacterial growth).
An endoscope tip protector provides protection to the tip during transport, storage and cleaning. The protector is made up of material which is not abrasive so it does not scratch the lens of the instrument. Its characteristics include:
- It fits the tips of the endoscope with ease
- It provides a safe, simple, and effective way of protecting the tip
- Since it is made of non-porous expandable mesh, it leaves room for the tip to breath thus eliminating the danger of accumulation of moisture
- Since it is used one time, it reduces the chances of cross-contamination
Semi-rigid expandable mesh for protecting Endoscopes and delicate surgical tools during transport and storage; also allows for safe drying without dangerous moisture build-up.
